Backing/Substrate Material

Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA) Film：PVA is a synthetic polymer that is non-toxic, biodegradable, and has excellent film-forming properties. The film is clear, soft, and flexible when dry.

Water-Spun Non-Woven Fabric: Some tapes use a non-woven fabric made from water-soluble fibers . This creates a softer, more cloth-like feel with high breathability.

Composites: To balance strength and dissolution speed, some backings may be a thin laminate of PVA film and other biodegradable materials.

Water-Soluble Pressure-Sensitive Adhesive (PSA)

Primary Material: Water-Soluble Acrylic Polymer Adhesives

Characteristics: This is the most common and advanced technology used. Through specific polymer chemistry, these adhesives are engineered to have two key states:
